A Faire Keltic Renaissance
Lucidea Galvigin was happy most of the time being a forensic artist. But in the last few months her life had been turned upside down. She had recently found out about her fey background and being heir to her Uncle Morghan, who was head of the clan Alfar-Sindhu. Morghan had been taken into a vortex after fighting an elemental. Taking a leave of absence from her job, she was going to go back to Scotland and find him.
But in steps Jaysson Zeroun. He comes from the faire Otherworld. His family is now again being threatened by a blood-enemy named Feidhlim. Feidhlim had been stripped of his magical powers and sent to the world between worlds, but has escaped. This evil man had raped Jayse’s sister-in-law, and with his escape, might try to take the child that she was about to give birth to.
Lucidea had been the police artist to draw Feidhlim after the rape. Jayce went to Lucidea to have her do different composites of him. His family was sure that Feidhlim had changed his appearance. Jayse’s family believed that the pictures might help in finding this evil man. Jayse not only got the pictures he had requested, but a feeling that Lucidea was meant to be his.
Lucidea offers refuge at her Scottish estate for Jayse’s family until they can find Feidhlim. Being afraid of her own destiny as leader of the Alfar-Sindhu, Lucidea instead concentrates on helping Jayse find the enemy of his family. Little does either of them realize that their histories are as much joined together, as they are destined to be together.
This book is a great blending of fantasy, legends and love. The story never stops moving, as each new piece of information gives the characters new revelations that move them closer to their destinies. The love scenes are beautiful because these are two souls not just two bodies joining together in deep love and admiration. They find strength in each other to face the destiny that they share.
I also like the patience in this book. The story takes place over a few months. During that time Lucidia and Jayse learn to be patient with one another and accept each other for who they are. This is a love that will last for their entire lives, which is what we all want.
I think a good cup of hot chocolate would be a sweet compliment to this sweet story.
