Deirdre: The Long Journey into Legend

Deirdre had been studying ancient Celtic history, traditions and language for years. Now she had the chance to actually visit that time. Her mentor, Dr. Daniels, had created a time folding machine that can take people back in time.

When they make their journey, Deirdre and her comrades are dropped right into the middle of a local clan fight. Deirdre is separated from her people and is pointed into the woods for safety by one of the warriors. After the battle is over, Niall the clan chieftain of the Eman Macha comes looking for the beautiful woman he sent off the battlefield. He speaks to her, but she only gives him a look of panic and confusion. In order to keep her safe, he takes her back to his village.

Knowing she must get back to her comrades in order to return to her own time, Deirdre starts back for the battlefield on her own. Niall catches up to her, and with his coming, there unfolds an adventure worthy to go down in legend.

The love story between Niall and Deirdre is lusciously woven into the fantasy story. Every page kept me going forward. I not only wanted to see the two lovers get together, but get to the bottom of the mystery of Deirdre’s legend. If you like fantasy that mixes present to past, you will enjoy this one.
