Destiny

Journalist Abby Baker is in awe. She’s actually inside Castle Lehr and she feels like she’s stepped into another time in history. She is further overwhelmed and more than a little ticked off at the presumptuousness of her host, the Duke of Lehr. His hotly erotic stare and “knowledge” about her make her uncomfortable and then everything goes black when he claims to be her Destiny.

Nathaniel, Duke of Lehr, knows that Abby is his; she’s his soulmate and the only one who can break this awful curse upon him. He knows that she will be terrified when he reveals what he really is, but he gives her the choice of staying or leaving. He works his magic on her in the bedroom, and his powers cloud her memories...or so it seems.

Destiny is the story of a 21st century woman meeting the man of her dreams. He’s titled, rich, tall, dark, and handsome; he’s also over three hundred years old and a vampire. Abby struggles with loving him; not the physical act of it, but the emotional attachment - and her old life still tugs at her. She is a strong, sassy, and smart character, and she leads the Duke a merry chase. Rachel Carrington aptly and ably creates a lush setting, taking an intriguing premise and running wild with it. I really enjoyed reading Destiny, and loved the fairy-tale ending.
