Fairytale Love - Tarot: The King of Wands

Cruel Marinda has imprisoned a fairy princess and her subjects just for the fun of making fantastical creations out of fairy dust. Marinda’s brother Granden, the King of Wands, thinks she needs a bit of her own medicine. He magically swaps the two women, leaving Marinda a captive until someone cares for her enough to set her free, while the princess Isabelle is now a woman. Little does Granden know that Isabelle has plotted and planned for this day; Marinda is not the only one who needs to learn to love. Can Granden learn his lesson?

Meanwhile, a thousand years pass, and Marinda is still captive, eating every meal with King Jadder. He wants her so badly that he can’t think straight, and desires to make a child with her, even as he hates what she is. Then King Jadder falls ill, and though every known remedy is tried to heal him, nothing works until Marinda gives him a special gift. The spell reaches its time limit; is it too late for the magic to be undone so that they can find love?

Fairytale Love - Tarot: The King of Wands is a lighthearted and warm look at the changes that love makes in people. Marinda and Granden are thoughtless and selfish; they don’t care for the needs and wishes of others and they strive to get what they want by taking it by force. Jadder and Isabelle are a softer, gentler people, and they truly desire a happily ever after ending for everyone involved. Fireworks explode when these two lines of thinking clash.

Carys Weldon weaves a magical tale of fancy and lust in Fairytale Love - Tarot: The King of Wands. I was enchanted and engrossed immediately, and will be counting Carys Weldon among my favorites from now on.
