Greene Fields of Summer

Sarah Greene is skipping out on two months rent and leaving for a vacation to the coast. Her would-be sugar daddy candidate has gotten himself arrested for fraud or something and she’s looking for fresh meat. On the way, she finds herself lost and ends up in a seaside town, meeting Billy Fields, a photographer. They hit it off, and have a photo session. Later, they go out trolling for companionship, and find it, temporarily at least, in a couple of guys named Bolan and Meo. Striking out on taking them back to Billy’s apartment for fun, Billy and a very drunk Sarah go home.

The next day they go for breakfast, only to be interrogated by the local mafia about their relationship with Bolan and Meo. Billy and Sarah decide to go into business together as private detectives, and “Greene Fields” is born. They stumble their way through bad buys and good guys, cops and opposing gangs with much hilarity and humor mixed in, and nearly get themselves killed multiple times. Along Billy and Sarah share their pain and play at some sex games. Billy has loved and lost, and soon Sarah will as well.

Greene Fields of Summer is a funny and steamy tale with a whole herd of side stories. Everything meshes together to create an intriguing and entertaining read. This slapstick comedy reminded me of the television show “Moonlighting”, with its sexual tension and humor. Sarah is sassy and beautiful, while Billy is charming and endearing. Emy Naso shines in Greene Fields of Summer!
