Living in the Past: Confessions of a Renaissance Queen

Colleen is an ordinary librarian most of the time, but for two glorious months out of the year, she is the Queen Kathryn of England for the local Renaissance Fair. She nearly forgets to continue the charade when a handsome blond knight prettily begs a token from her. He is so gorgeous that all of the spit in her mouth simply dries up, nearly making her forget her role.

Christian is looking for more than a one-night stand. He is intensely attracted to Colleen, who can’t seem to understand why he’d bother with her. They love and lust after each other and then trouble brews in Paradise when stupid Marianne the Viking stirs the pot. Marianne likes to keep her brass breastplate on, even when she is out of character, which is pretty funny. Why didn’t Chris tell Colleen that he’s going back to Australia?

Living in the Past: Confessions of a Renaissance Queen is a lush and lusty piece about blurring the lines between fact and the fantasy of the Ren Fair. Colleen is too mousy to attract the hunky and luscious Christian, or at least that is what she thinks. He proves her wrong when they work through the confusion Marianne causes. What will their future hold?

I enjoyed this fast-paced novella a lot, and my only hope is that Carole Bellacera keeps on writing more like it! Living in the Past: Confessions of a Renaissance Queen was perfect for a cozy cuddle with a cup of tea in my favorite chair. I'll be on the lookout for Ms. Bellacera's books from now on.
