Perilous Circles

Publicist Taylor Fairchild, along with her friend and co-worker Susan Holmes, is on an all expense paid trip to London; it’s her father’s gift to her. Though she insists that she’s over her superstar ex-husband, she is driven to work an insane amount of hours to help her forget. Taylor and Susan are hanging out in a Soho bar having a good time, when the band Fury takes the stage. Something about the lead singer just grabs Taylor and won’t let go.

Good-looking Fury frontman Craig Phillips doesn’t believe that Taylor’s father is a music promoter back in the United States. Craig’s ego is the size of jolly old England itself; he’s got a checkered past and is currently involved in a dangerous situation. Craig’s talent and charm soon begin to chip away at the walls Taylor has built up around herself. Then Taylor gets the go-ahead from her dad to bring the band to America to record, and they hit it big. The plot heats up when the secret Craig is keeping results in his brother getting kidnapped and Craig is blackmailed into going to Mexico. When Craig’s absence gets too much for Taylor to take, she goes there to find him.

Perilous Circles is an edgy, fast–paced, and intense look at the ups and downs of opposites attracting; it also details the ins and outs of the music world. Taylor and Craig have a lot of baggage to overcome if they have any hope of succeeding, and Craig’s aversion to commitment may be the ruination of their relationship almost before it starts. The main characters are likeable and the secondary players add a lot of depth to the story as well. Whisking readers from London to the U.S. to Mexico, Diane Gilmore shows creativity and a knack for an intriguing and twisting storyline in Perilous Circles.
