Traffic Jam

Emily Garrett is already late for her job interview and with the accident up ahead, it doesn’t look like she’s going anywhere anytime soon. She is catching a little nap and having the best dream when she is awakened by a hunky stranger knocking on her car window. Mr. Hunky is new to the area, and she’s a local girl, so it would only be neighborly to be friendly. She searches for a topic to talk about with this gorgeous man, even as she’s trying not to trip over her tongue.

Jason happens to have a dart board in his pickup truck, and they pass the time together by playing darts. He proves himself a gentleman, and when the traffic jam clears, she loses him in the crowd. She didn’t even get his phone number and now he’s gone. Looks like it was never meant to be...or is there a chance that she’ll meet up with him again?

Traffic Jam is a 13-page pleaser with a surprise twist of the plot at the end. Tara Greenbaum shows an amazing capacity to pack so much into this little interlude between Emily and Jason. There is excellent character development shown in Emily, and her conversations with herself are humorous and pithy. Great job, Tara Greenbaum!
