His Wicked Ways

The second that Alec Messina laid eyes on the sexy woman strolling ever so casually up to his work out mat he knew that his life would never be the same. He asked for volunteers to help demonstrate some self-defense moves, never dreaming that SHE would put the moves on him, in the best possible way. After being wrongfully accused of embezzling company funds, Alec has been hiding out in plain site for the past several months waiting for his business partners to make a mistake. His days of hiding are obviously over and now he must convince the lovely detective Torres that HE is the innocent one.

Vanessa would give anything to not have to go back to her old neighborhood in order to find Alec. The Bronx holds too many bad memories and she fought too long and hard to get out, but she is the best at her job because she does what has to be done in order to nab the criminal. With his family ties to the mob, it seems that Alec is indeed the criminal, but Vanessa soon learns that everything is not always as it seems.

Chemistry sizzles, danger abounds and things get really “wicked” in this latest Joanne Rock composition. Ms. Rock has been a favorite since I read her first book and His Wicked Ways deliver everything that I have come to expect from one of her books. The contrast of Alec’s family background and Vanessa’s job is a big part of this story as they must trust their feelings and instincts despite what their brains tells them they SHOULD do. They both have issues in their past they must come to terms with before they can contemplate a future, and they must do this while attempting to distinguish the good guys from the bad guys. Fans of Joanne Rock will NOT be disappointed.
