April Love

April Brooks has come home to Landis Falls to help run the Rosebud, her Aunt Sadie’s bed and breakfast. Sadie just had a stroke and needs assistance running the place, and after her disastrous engagement to a colleague, April is more than ready to get away from her teaching career.

April heads to Red’s Bar and Grill one night with a single goal in mind: she wants to have sex. She’s more than ready to give up her virginity after saving it for her ex-fiancé who cheated on her. When April lays eyes on Will Shepard, she knows that he is the man she wants to have sex with.

Will Shepard couldn’t take his eyes off of April from the moment she walked into the bar. When she propositions him for a night of steamy passion, he’s more than willing. But to his shock, April is a virgin! Will proposes a series of love lessons, to prepare April for the time they finally make love, and she readily agrees. Will turns her on in a way her ex-fiancé never did. But the love lessons quickly turn into something more special, as both April and Will realize that they are falling love. This is scary for both of them as they have been burned in the past by other loves and aren’t willing to risk their hearts again. But love is a tricky game, and before you realize it, you’ve fallen hard, something April and Will are about to discover.

April Love is a romantic and sensual love story featuring two protagonists who are doing their best to avoid love, only to have it come sneaking up on them. This is a lighthearted romance that tells the story of a virgin finally experiencing the joy that can come with giving one’s heart to the right person. I thought April was a great heroine, someone willing to take care of her family when needed, someone who isn’t afraid to experience new things, and a person who just has a general optimistic view of life. Watching Will, a man badly burned by love, fall in love with her was a real treat. Honey Jans has written a lovely story with two characters that are not only believable people, but that are special individuals.
