Dangerous Cravings: Disdain

When Disdain arrived at Burgundy Peak, it was to teach the newbies the intricacies of the mind. He is the foremost teacher in mental training, but he’s hiding a shameful secret: an addiction that will end his life if he’s successful.

Alana is a new vampire with a horrifying past; she was attacked by human hunters and watched her sire be killed. Thankfully, she has been given a job and another chance for a life at Burgundy Peak. When she finds herself enrolled in Disdain’s class, she cannot believe how hard of a taskmaster he is.

When the two of them can no longer fight their attraction, a tumultuous relationship ensues. Will they last forever, or will their baggage hold them back?

Dangerous Cravings: Disdain by Kate Hill was another excellent example of skillful writing by a consistently fabulous author. Ms. Hill brings to life a couple of characters that would be unbelievable and yet makes you believe in them. You find yourself cheering for a vampire addict, and that impresses me. To take a corrupted character and make you empathize so much with him that you are hoping that he gets what he needs is amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Well done, Ms. Hill.
