Falling Star Wish

Holly woke up after a drunken night of playing with her friends to find herself face-to-face with an upset elf. Holly tried to make sense of her fractured memories of the night before, memories of fondling a pointed ear and winding her fingers through his hair, did she really do that? After finding out that she and her friends had performed a summoning spell and that it had worked, Holly had to realign her worldview to include the paranormal.

Even after Holly recanted the summoning, Edan was unable to leave Holly even though he had only been with her for a short time. He was curious about her and what made her special enough to be able to overpower his personal magic and draw him to her. What follows is a very sweet and hot romance that shows you that the only way to truly live is to let go of your fears.

This was a great book that took the idea of elves, dragons, brownies, and other Faerie creatures and wove them into a contemporary setting. Holly is a woman who is fighting the guilt of surviving a horrendous tragedy where few of her friends did. She is living her life cautiously and not fully. Edan remembers leaving and losing his mortal mother when he had to be taken from her as an Elven child. He does not want to feel the pain that his father does, nor does he want to chance having to take his child from Holly. I really enjoyed the nuances of Elven society and the meddling of the Dragons in this book. All in all this was a well written book with believable responses from its cast of characters. Well-done Ms. Hanawa.
