POSSESSED BY DEMONS

This anthology of twelve short stories is literally brimming with memorable characters like the young lovers Caitlin and Felix, road-weary traveler Kirsten, ghostly Natasha, and the ruthless Mariam. All these characters, combined with many others, create deliciously evil stories that delight in keeping you up at night. The plots are all equally different, with a wonderful twist in each one. In Mary By The Fire, young Mary has no beau. She watches her sisters around her, one by one, become engaged. Until that fateful night by the fire, Mary didn't even have the yearning for a husband. Mary's father comes to her usual spot in the chair by the fire to tell her they'll be having an overnight guest. Mary meets Robin, the mysterious and handsome stranger, and instantly, they feel as though they've known each other for years. Unfortunately, Robin must leave at the end of the night. Before the young man departs, he leaves her with a bag for her to watch over. Mary watches the man that she's quickly grown to love leave, with the mysterious bag in hand. Over time, she grows to believe that an engagement ring is contained within the bag. Natasha's Shadow is another of my favorites from this anthology. Natasha has been dead nearly a year, and her lover is still not over the anguish of losing the woman he loves. Sensing his grief near her final resting place, she appears to him in human form to comfort him. There is truly something for everyone in this anthology.

It was a true delight moving through these twelve stories, with their richly developed characters and intricately woven plots. After reading this wonderful book, this angel will personally be looking for many more novels by Bryn Colvin. Keep 'em comin', Bryn!
