Trails of the Dime Novel

This is a fun and adventure-filled novel set in the old west during the 1800’s. Rick Dalton is a young northern gentleman working as a writer for one of the northern newspapers. His ability to paint pictures with his words is totally unappreciated by his editor. Rick’s adventure begins when his Uncle Edgar dies leaving him a hefty inheritance that comes with an interesting condition. The only way Rick gets to claim the inheritance is if he gives up his newspaper job and starts to write the stories his uncle is sure he is capable of. Nervous and excited Rick boards a train heading west, changes his name to Texas Jack and sets out in search of stories to write.

If you have ever wondered how the legends of the old west became legends then this is the book for you. Terry Burns gives you twenty complete adventures in one novel. Although the book is fiction, the historical references are true making this a great way to learn a little history while having fun. Texas Jack is such a loveable character, and he made me laugh so hard a couple of times that I had to stop reading and catch my breath. I can wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good story. If you happen to have a younger reader in the family feel free to share this book with them. Trails of the Dime Novel is just good clean fun.
