Back To Love: Baby Blues

Joel will do whatever it takes to regain the relationship he had with his wife before the baby came. Not that he does not love and adore his son, but he wants to feel emotionally and physically close to his wife again. He and Lacey had such a fun together, now all they do is stay home. Joel decides to make several sacrifices in order to give his wife the time and rest she needs. Lacey becomes concerned with all the things Joel is doing. Are her friends right, is he having an affair? Lacey loves Joel, it is just that their lives are not as carefree since the baby came. As much as she loves her son, she would like to have some time to herself. Lacey wonders why Joel keeps rejecting the sexual overtures she is making towards him? Does he not want her anymore?

Alyssa Brooks’ Back To Love: Baby Blues is a different kind of romance. It deals with what happens to a marriage after the baby comes. The love that Joel and Lacey feel for one another has not disappeared; it has just gotten buried under dirty dishes and clothes, diapers needing to be changed and being just plain tired. I enjoyed how the author showed the sexual side of their relationship as just be a part of what was missing, and that each really just missed spending quality time together.
