Enlightened Love

Kerry Reynolds has lived under her fiancé Jason’s control long enough. Watching him kill a woman forces Kerry to admit what kind of man Jason is. Running away, she lives on the street trying to rebuild her life and hide from Jason. In a bar, Kerry meets Rick, who welcomes her into his life and home. Kerry does not want to be dependent on anyone, so she is reluctant to depend on any kindness from Rick. Being around him shows Kerry just how strong and trustworthy a man can be. Rick may be admirable, but Kerry is hesitant to give her heart to any man. As they grow closer, Jason returns and no one leaves Jason and lives.

Rick has spent the last eighteen years of his life living as a monk. Now that he has returned to America to live, Rick wants to experience the passion of a woman and lose his virginity. Kerry has a quality that he is unable to resist. He can sense that she is in trouble and needs help and he will do all he can to protect and help her. As his cousin introduces him to other women, Rick’s heart and mind return to Kerry. She is the woman he wants to be with. When trouble from Kerry’s past finds them, Rick will risk everything, even his life, to save her.

This is an amazing book. I was touched by Kerry’s determination to rebuild her life and to be independent. Rick’s acclimation to life in America is humorous as he learns the dos and don’ts. The sexual chemistry between Rick and Kerry is intense, yet each is reluctant to act upon it. This is a story of growth, independence and finding love when you least expect it.
