Toni Fallon has ignored her feelings for Sal Aguero long enough. She is reluctant to become involved with her boss; Toni does not want the office rumor mill to be directed her way. When Sal begins to pursue her, Toni does not want to be just another notch on his belt. As the two try to hide their budding relationship, Sal is accused of a crime. Sal abruptly ends their relationship just as Toni wants him to know how much she loves him and believes in his innocence. Toni is floored by Sal’s actions and wonders, has she put her faith in the wrong man again?

Sal Aguero has made the decision to do something about his feelings for Toni Fallon. They have skirted the issue long enough. While Toni is reluctant to have their relationship out in the open, Sal knows she cares for him. When involvement with a past acquaintance plunges Sal into a very public predicament, he ends things with Toni. Too bad his heart will not let Toni go. Barely escaping federal charges, Sal has lost just about everything and wonders if it too late to regain Toni’s heart.

This is a very moving story. Sal and Toni are each just beginning to open their hearts, when they are rocked by accusations against Sal. The author does an excellent job demonstrating the turbulent emotions that both Sal and Toni are faced with. I enjoyed that though Toni was reluctant to have their associates know about their relationship, her faith and trust in Sal never wavered.
