Sarah’s Hawk

The lighthouse has always represented safety and protection for Sarah. When she helped three people reach safety, she never expected the townspeople to react the way they did. Sarah knew that she was no beauty but their cruelty deeply hurt her. Hawk was like no man she had ever met. He seems to look into her heart and know the true Sarah that has hidden from the world. Sarah loses her heart to Hawk, but can not trust that he will want her. Hateful accusations and revelations from her father enable Sarah to take a leap of faith.

Hawk has spent so much of his life entertaining others as a bard that he has forgotten what it is to love. Sarah’s kindness and giving heart make him feel again. His adopted son, Jewls, is the only person Hawk has let get close. Sarah makes him want to love again. He will do whatever it takes to show Sarah how wonderful she is. Hawk will protect Sarah from the hurtful actions of the townspeople and her father.

Nix Winter’s Sarah’s Hawk is a charming book. The interaction between the characters builds the story as Sarah finally realizes the woman that she is. The author’s use of dialogue and the emotional elements of the story make this a pleasant read.
