In Camelot’s Shadow
Lady Risa of the Morelands could not understand why her father had once again turned down another of her suitors asking for her hand in marriage. Even her mother had no clue why her husband would not allow their only child to marry. Therefore they both decided to have Risa eavesdrop on a conversation between her parents. What she heard she could not believe or even begin to comprehend. Her father had made a bargain with an evil sorcerer when Risa was still in her mother’s womb to save the life of his dying wife, in turn he would have to give up the child growing in her stomach. Upon hearing this life shattering news, she had to run away from the only home she had ever known in order to escape the sorcerer Euberacon.
Sir Gawain, heir apparent to King Arthur of the Round Table, had received word from a spy that there was angst growing among the Saxons. Only these were not normal men coming for revenge on Arthur’s court, they had apparently joined forces with dark unknown magical beings. Now Sir Gawain must make it back in time to warn the Round Table before their enemies can overtake them. On his way to Camelot Sir Gawain meets up with a beautiful woman in desperate need of protection. Lady Risa he soon discovers is on the run from a magical force of her own.
Both Sir Gawain and Lady Risa now must complete a very dark and dangerous journey not only to save Briton but also to try and get Lady Risa out of the hands of Euberacon. Can these two defeat these evil forces and make it to Camelot in time?
In Camelot’s Shadow by Sarah Zettel is definitely a must read! Fans of King Arthur and the Round Table will delight in this magical tale of Lady Risa and Sir Gawain. This story is woven as if by a magical force all its own. Once this book is in your hand and you have read page one, you cannot put it down.
