Kellen is a Celtic warrior from the year 252 A.D. He was sent to Maxie in order to avenge her. He had a cursed placed on him by a witch who was frustrated with his inability to commit to one woman. Really, he was a bit of a cad. For his punishment, he is to avenge women who have been wronged and unfortunately, as part of his punishment, no one could see him. Until now. Suddenly Maxie is staring at the very delectable Kellen. She's a little freaked out, but as she gets to know Kellen, it becomes obvious that he is much more than meets the eye. Now Maxie, a woman who has never known true love or better sex, and Kellen, a man who has always believed variety is the spice of life, are falling in love. Neither is sure what is going to happen in the days to come, but it's sure to be one heck of an adventure.

Normally I wouldn't give five stars to such a short story. Usually the plot just isn't that developed or there is just something stopping me from giving it a five star review. Not so the case with The Ex-Files: Maxie's Man. This book was a delight from the beginning to the end. Not only do we get to read about how Maxie has made herself stronger and more self-assured after her brutal attack but we also get a glimpse of Maddie and Cole, the couple from The Ex-Files: Mayhem and Maddie. What really made me give this book a five star review though is the main couple: Maxie and Kellen. Their interaction with each other was tender, funny, primitive, and very loving. I love alpha males and Kellen fits that bill perfectly. I liked seeing how he had to adjust to the year 2004 and his conversations with his conscience were amusing. Maxie provides a wonderful example of a woman of strength as she has taken her life back. She isn't going to let Juan keep her afraid anymore. She is going to enjoy life to its fullest. The humor just kept rolling in this story, particularly during a karaoke bar scene. I can't wait to read about Katy as Dakota Cassidy has provided a clever little teaser about what is to happen to her. Get your hands on this book today!
