Captured

Be prepared to be captured by print as four authors combine to bring you a new, erotic anthology. These characters heat up the pages as they are each caught in a web of their own making.

Hostage by Barri Bryan

Abigail Warren is supposed to be starting a new life in the West, a life free of her past. The stage coach stop is meant to be for rest and new horses. However, when Abigail sees a man being treated cruelly, she decides to intervene and finds herself taken hostage. As her captor, Raul, makes a bid for freedom, will she survive her unexpected trek across the frontier?

Hostage displays the stark existence of the American West and a love that develops in the most unlikely circumstances. Given the brief nature of this book, I was surprised by how much I came to like Abigail. The passion that flares between her and Raul is heated. The depth of their attraction to each other is well told and as the story concludes, readers will be touched by this “hostage’s” future.

Virtual Love by Elizabeth Batten-Carew

Control is important to Jerette. She longs to be in charge and virtual reality provides a playground where she has ultimate control. When a Phantom player enters her game and tries to usurp her control, will Jerette relinquish her precious power? Is she strong enough to let go when the Phantom promises to fulfill her every fantasy?

Talk about looking at technology in a whole new light. Virtual Love is an erotic treat that had this reader wondering until the end who would win the sexual struggle. The virtual reality setting was unique and fun, but it was the scenes between Jerette and Phantom that truly stood out. The chemistry between them is hot, and as they struggle to gain control in Jerette’s virtual world, readers will be hooked.

Forbidden Fruit by Jaide Fox

Hunger and pride will make even the noblest man desperate. So desperate that the idea of kidnapping Lady Lilith and impregnating her in order to save his cursed land does not seem farfetched to Dominic Rainier. However, what does an honorable man do afterwards?

Forbidden Fruit is a bold, erotic romance that managed to delight and surprise this reader. The conflict the characters experience will have readers empathizing with both sides while the chemistry between Lilith and Dominic will have readers hoping they can find a common ground. The ending is more than fitting for two lovers that have been brought together by a curse and fate.

Heart of Midnight by Kimberly Zant

As Amy found herself speeding into the dark trying to escape a killer, she runs headlong into an even greater danger, a man that can hold her body and soul. Kyle has reason to distrust anyone around him, so when Amy crosses his path he has no choice but ensure that she is no threat to him. His line of questioning is unorthodox and erotic and sets them on a path neither expected.

Heart of Midnight starts and ends with a flare. Amy’s terror will draw readers in immediately, but the unrelenting eroticism between Kyle and Amy will keep readers glued to the pages. Their flight from Kyle’s enemies has heat and tension that sustains the plot through to the end.

Despite the distinctly different plots and styles within Captured, these talented authors have managed to create a composite work that is as enjoyable as the individuals stories themselves. Well done.
