Desert Heat

Amy is on a new mission. Being part of the Vice Squad, Amy has been given the opportunity to see many different things. No amount of training has prepared Amy for this one though; infiltrate a club believed to be smuggling drugs and obtain information on one, Antonio Martin. Looking over his mug shot, Amy is left breathless. She is blown over by the real thing. Can she pull herself together to get this job done?

Antonio is a man of mystery: what one sees is not what one always gets. Antonio is running a business and good at it. He is also keeping his eye out for trouble and then Amy enters. Immediately drawn to her, he gets more involved than he should. If she knows what he is and what he does, will she accept him? In a moment of confusion, everything comes down around him.

Desert Heat is a short story that throws readers into an erotic, chaotic environment within just a few pages. The characters are consumed by physical attraction while remaining very guarded emotionally. Antonio and Amy are both sexy and not what they seem. Antonio is providing a service that no one else can. Amy is trying to shut down an alleged illegal operation. Unknown to each of them, their missions could have a very personal cost. Is it worth it or is there something more important?

Angeline Bright has done an outstanding job of grabbing my attention. The mystery that surrounds Antonio and his club provides an excellent backdrop for Amy’s roller coaster emotions. Even though this story is a short one, it leaves you guessing until the very end. I was pleasantly surprised with its ending while being left a little breathless with the sheer sizzling romance between the two characters. Desert Heat has earned 4 Angels!
