Desperado

Esther is a schoolmarm. She lost her family early in life causing her to end up as an orphan at the age of five. Esther wants a husband and children of her own and soon. She has more than one option in Dodge City for fulfilling the role of husband, if only she did not want that one desperado that she has waited years for. Can Esther walk away from him when he brings her entire body and soul nothing but happiness? Has it been a waste to wait for him so long?

Bart is a wanted man, a desperado. He must clear his name. He has been wrongly accused of murder by a long-time nemesis. For a man on a mission, he immediately detours to see his beloved Esther upon arriving in Dodge City. Can Bart clear up the misunderstanding about that murder before it is too late? Can he convince Esther that she was not wrong to wait for him all those years?

Lyndi Lamont has written a short story that brings readers in at the moment two characters realize their arrangement of seeing each other occasionally has blossomed into a true romance. Esther’s life has been entangled with one heartbreak after another at the heads of another person or illness. Bart’s life was one always spent as a loner. Readers will be drawn to Esther’s painful past as well as Bart’s compassion for keeping Esther safe from any more pain. Can Esther move past her painful memories to love Bart in every way? Will Esther’s desperado stay this time or will he leave like all the times before?

Although this book is extremely short, it offers a sweet story of how two totally different people can find the one thing that matters most in life, love, in each other. The flirtatious attraction that Lyndi Lamont creates between Bart and Esther is a nice blend of playful devotion for each other and physical chemistry. Readers will enjoy spending the time it takes to read Desperado. This book is a nice little romance. 3 Angels!
