Match Me If You Can

Annabelle Granger of Perfect for You is set to make the match of the decade. Wealthy sports agent Heath Champion wants to get married and he’s hired Annabelle, against his better judgment, to help him find a wife. Annabelle knows that if she can succeed in finding Heath the ideal woman, Perfect for You will take off. After inheriting the business from her Nana, Annabelle knows that the only way it can continue to thrive is if she makes a major match.

Heath Champion dreads hiring Annabelle as his newest matchmaker. He already has a contract with the premier matchmaking business in Chicago, Power Matches. He figures there’s no way that Annabelle can find a better wife for him than Power Matches owner, Portia Powers, but Heath is willing to give her one try. He hasn’t become the most powerful sports agent in Chicago for nothing.

To his complete bewilderment, Annabelle matches him with a great woman. They connect on a level that none of Portia’s possible matches have so far come close to matching. All of a sudden Heath is thinking that perhaps a little competition between the matchmakers might just help him get the best possible wife. Sounds cold blooded in some ways, but Heath is a businessman and used to the most efficient methods of achieving his goals. Right now he wants a wife and he’s determined to get a wife…but the only problem is, he’s very attracted to Annabelle. She’s not anything that he wants in a wife; she’s not organized, well connected, refined, or sophisticated, but she holds an alluring attraction for him that he can’t seem to let go of. Her sense of humor, her zest for life and her determination to make her business succeed are all qualities Heath admires in her. But he’s going to concentrate on finding Miss Perfect anyway, even if all women seem to pale in comparison to Annabelle.

Annabelle is also feeling some serious attraction waves towards Heath, but like him, she knows it would never work. They are too different, and besides, he’s a client. He’s “the” client, the one who will put Perfect for You on the map. She’s not going to mess up her future for the sake of a piddling attraction…is she?

Match Me If You Can is the newest story from contemporary romance writer Susan Elizabeth Phillips. It’s also the latest story in her Chicago Stars series. Fans of zany romances with admirable protagonists will fall in love with this story. Neither Heath nor Annabelle is perfect. They have their foibles and character flaws, but they also have a strident determination to succeed, a drive to make the most of life, that endears them to the reader. They aren’t going to let life kick them in the teeth, but both also need to learn to open their hearts to failure and to the possibility that life is not always going to go the way they planned. Lovable, humorous, warmhearted and just plain special are all words that describe Match Me If You Can. This is the perfect summer time pick me up because, as always, Susan Elizabeth Phillips creates a perfect realistic romance, toads, princes and all.
