Nights of Fire

He woke to blinding pain and a soothing voice. After days of drifting in and out of consciousness, he tried to concentrate on what happened. Who was the beautiful woman murmuring to him in French and English? Why can’t he keep his hands off her? What happened? More importantly, who was he?

Gabrielle is desperate to help her husband remember what he needs to in order to save their lives and the plans of the Allied troops. Paul was taken by the Nazis and beaten so badly that he developed amnesia. It is June 4, 1944 and there are only days for her to help him. He has the information necessary to save the world. Not only does she need to get him to remember for the sake of the invasion, but there is a traitor in their midst and it is them against the world. If only he’d remember her.

Leonie Daniels does an amazing job of bringing to life the World War II French countryside. To feel the helplessness in Gabrielle as she battles the pain in having a husband who doesn’t remember her and the need to do her job, Ms. Daniels brought it all to life. I don’t often find 20th Century historical erotica and this one is a gem. The characters are well rounded and make it easy to empathize with. I hope that Ms. Daniels will write more like this, I will definitely be looking for them.
