The Keeper of the Cove

The community of Oceanview has always known to avoid the cove. No one is quite sure why, but they all know that bad things happen when the keeper of the cove stirs. No one has dared until the Harrisons build a house overlooking the cove.

Andy Harrison is a scientist who lost his wife a few years ago. He is struggling to make a life for his son, Alex, and Jennifer, his new wife in Oceanview, who is a child psycologist at the local elementary school where Alex has just started. Alex is ten years old and very shy, he prefers to spend his time imagining a more exciting life rather than interacting with his fellow students. After a terrible first day of school, Alex finds himself with a broken wrist and a nagging feeling that the homeless person he saw before school had something to tell him.

An intriguing tale of betrayal, death, and bioengineering genius follows and keeps you enraptured until the last page.

The Keeper of the Cove is a masterful tale of suspense. I was literally on the edge of my seat while reading it. The way the author described the characters and the cove is so well done that you are pulled into the story. You can't quite put your finger on who the actual villain is, but throughout the entire book, there was such a sense of evilness that put my teeth on edge. You were really made to feel for Alex and to think about why people acted the way they did. There are a lot of shades of gray in The Keeper of the Cove. There were characters I hated, but that's the way they were written. M.J. Konevich will be on my 'To Buy' list for a very long time.
