Myth-Behavin'

Nebulous by Shiloh Walker

Kerrigan has always dreamed of a beautiful man who comes to her and makes unbelievable love to her. Lately, the dreams have become even more disturbing. Sometimes their lovemaking ends in her dream lover transforming into a monster and abusing her. In addition, she has an irresistible urge to visit Ireland. While there, she discovers a myth of a local man whose rage after his wife’s suicide made him into a demon, searching for the one woman he has lost.

For seven hundred years, Azar has used women. Although he craves her, he will not allow himself to touch Kerrigan, thus entrapping her and eventually causing her death. But he’s having strange dreams about her…and as a demon born incubus, he should be controlling her dreams, not the other way around. He begins to remember his previous existence and that of Kerrigan, who was once Caoilinn, his wife. Can they change their past if Azar is given another chance?

In Nebulous, Ms. Walker pens a story of love, betrayal, and forgiveness that will touch you in so many ways. First, the characters are well developed and interesting. Kerrigan’s fear and anxiety, as well as her need to understand are clearly evident. Azar’s need for her is also obvious. Even when he doesn’t understand why, he protects her as he always has. Eventually, his undying love gives him the opportunity to relive a wonderful yet painful time in his past. Their story will touch your heart while at the same time kick-starting your libido.

Into the Green by Rachel Bo

As the Earth dies, Tawny Blackwood understands that she must seek help from the one man she has always loved and the one man that she refused to marry. Her bond with a being that she calls Forrest Green prevented her from uniting with Kaniwa Tijani but allows her to feel the death of the planet. Now she and Kani must travel into the Brazilian rainforest to discover a way to save it. She knows, once there, Forrest will explain how they can save the Earth, but once she is told, will she and Kani be willing to sacrifice all that they are and join with Forrest?

Into the Green is a fascinating story of love and rebirth. Tawny, Kani and Forrest have been together for years. Although Kani didn’t know about Forrest, he felt connected to him. Now they must each decide if they can accept Forrest, as well as the changes he will bring to them. The fate of the world is at stake and their decisions must be made quickly. While their sexual encounters are very hot and very frequent, their love for the Earth and each other is what is so intriguing about this story. The lush descriptions of the rainforest are a wonderful setting for this vibrant tale of love and sacrifice.

El Trauco by Bonnie Hamre

While visiting her aunt in Chile, Isabel O’Shaughnessy is intrigued by a local myth about El Trauco, a troll who seduces and abandons young women. She begins to dream of him; hot sensual dreams that threaten to consume her. When she finds him, he’s all that she dreamed and more. Can they discover a way to be together?

This is one hot read! Isabel has an unbelievable capacity for feelings and emotions. Her anxiety, fear, frustration and sexual tension are all evident throughout this story. The strength that she finds and displays make this one great tale. As for the troll, he seems cold and callous, but just needs Isabel to show him what he’s missed. This ending is surprising but also moving. As a twist on a myth, El Trauco is intriguing and unusual. This world of fantasy and passion is one that you’ll want to visit over and over again, looking for your very own troll.
