A Crazy Kind of Love
Maureen Child has eloquently depicted the chaos, pain, and wonder that comes with loving. Her work, A Crazy Kind of Love, brings readers not only one amazing couple, but a cast of family and friends that will touch readers with their honest emotions.
Michaela “Mike” Marconi is content with her life. Sure, she hopes that the mailbox fairy will visit her, but for the most part she can't complain. She has worked long and hard to overcome the mistakes of her past. However, the winds of change are coming. First, she meets Lucas Gallagher. He is the sexy scientist that had the audacity to purchase “her” land and build a less than perfect house on it. Of course, since she is involved in the construction, it is her duty as a concerned neighbor to help him see the error of his ways. The battles that ensue between these two strong-willed people are hilarious. Things get even hotter when a stolen kiss brings to life hidden desires. However, will Mike and Lucas have a chance at a future when events in the present turn serious and force them to look deep inside themselves? Are they strong enough to confront the truth of the past and accept the changes forced upon them?
A Crazy Kind of Love is the second in the Marconi sisters’ trilogy. It is a wonderfully rich story of love and family. This is a romance that will have readers experiencing a full range of emotion. Mike and Lucas are a dynamic couple that are well matched in humor and passion. There were moments when this reviewer laughed out loud at their dialogue. The obstacles they overcome and the subsequent love that develops is a joy to read. This book may be Mike's story, but family and friends contribute to make this a story that stands apart. What I truly enjoyed is the depth of emotion that is presented by all the characters in this work. The Marconi sisters are a joy to read. Their arguments, teasing, and unfailing support of each other is reminiscent of real sisters. As all the characters cope with the changes that are coming, there are moments that will inspire tears and moments that will touch readers' hearts. A Crazy Kind of Love is a wonderful addition to this trilogy, but it can definitely be read alone. However, once you meet the Marconi family you won't be able to stop with just Mike's story. 5 Angels!
