As the story develops and you learn why Kate left years ago, you can’t help hurting at the naivety of youth. However, this simple story is interspersed with family and love that make this a feel good story for Christmas. When Kate finally finds a way to undo the damage of the past, readers are treated to an ending that is reminiscent of all good holiday stories as the Scrooge learns that there is more to life than power and prestige and that love is the greatest gift of all.
