Scars of the Heart

Sorsha Robbins is ready to move on with her life. David, the love of her life, walked out on her a year ago. She has dealt with the heartache and betrayal. On the eve of her wedding to another man, not only is she having doubts about a future with Adam, but David has returned and challenged her to deny her love for him. As the reasons for David’s disappearance become known, Sorsha must reevaluate her feelings while she and David confront the very real danger that has followed him.

Scars of the Heart is a short romantic suspense that touches on the emotions that have not died between David and Sorsha. The length of the work does not allow for in depth character development, but the author has managed to bring to light the most important aspects of their relationship. The characters’ struggle to decide on their future is made that much more difficult by the threat to David. Ms. Cloud has integrated the suspense aspect of the story in such a way that the relationship between Sorsha and David could not have been resolved without it. The threat they must endure forces the characters to look inside themselves to ascertain where their hearts truly belong. The ending of the story resolves all the conflicts and ensures that this short story will satisfy readers looking for a quick romp and a few fireworks.
