Sinopee lived in a land devastated by wars in the year 3009. Her world is brown; there are hardly any trees, grass, and enough food to feed the people. Everyone is the same; they wear brown tunics and are more concerned with science than in love or magic. One day a year she gets to be with the man she loves, Lust. He is the one who makes it possible for her to survive in her world, to endure the life she lives the other 364 days of the year. Today was the day she'd be with him again, pulled into his world, to see the rich color of the grass, trees, and the wonderful color of him. She will also learn why her parents had left the box of letters and the mirror to her before they disappeared.

Luster loved her...she was his mate. His people only loved once and that was with their bond mate. His lavender eyes shone with passion when he pulled her through the mirror and into his arms once again. They had to be careful; the Titans were closer to capturing his people than ever before. His people believed and used magic. They were rebels, Lust was their leader, and the Titans wanted them back. After losing the box of letters, Lust goes back to get them, and he is captured. Sinopee knows she has to help free him and gets Glimmer to help her, only to be taken prisoner herself. They have to find a way to escape, to get to the mirror before nightfall, or she dies and Lust along with her.

Ms. Burke has given us yet another great story to sink our teeth and imaginations into. The world she has created is full of magic and love. Her characters will intrigue readers with their credibility and with what they will do to keep others safe. Even though it is only 94 pages in length, it feels as if you have read a full-length novel. The sparks that fly between the two main characters Sinopee and Lust will have readers fanning themselves from the heat. If you have never read a Stephanie Burke book, then I suggest you grab this one, you won't be sorry that you did. The scene between Sinopee and Lust, after their capture, shows the true love between them. This is a recommended read.
