Center Moon - Stone Of Cordova

A race known as the Sapiens needs to flee Venus’ dwindling atmosphere. Their plan? Take over, control the Earth, and colonize it for their population. Everyone’s worst nightmare comes to life in this fantastically written young adult novel.

Jonas, our hero, has never known his father. Sure, he’s heard all about his father’s heroics, the campaigns, the sacrifice, but the young man has spent no time with him. The action begins the night his father comes home. It’s the first time he’s seen his father in a long time, and the last he will ever see him.

Jonas and his cousin Carlen are very real, tangible characters. The reader can see some known youth in the characters. They are vulnerable, strong, craving independence all the while needing stability and security that has been ripped from their young lives. Liotta was an intriguing young woman. I was very surprised at how Mr. Gambuti approaches the vacillation of youth and naïveté through Liotta’s character. It’s a brave and fresh step for a young adult writer.

This is a fast paced, action oriented novel. I thoroughly enjoyed having the opportunity to review this novel and suggest this as a recommended read! This is an author I will keep my eye out for and share with my young family members.
