My Lady Enslaved

The Earl of Ravenscar has been serving his country during the Napoleonic Wars by spying on the enemy. Unfortunately, the last mission turned sour and Ravenscar’s hands and throat were damaged by acid and acid fumes. He will do anything to have revenge on the turncoat who led his team into danger – Lia Delconte.

Chloe Sang, Lia Delconte’s twin sister, is her complete opposite. Though Chloe has borne a child, she is in many ways an innocent. Lia blackmails her sister Chloe into delivering a package for her – Chloe does it because Lia has threatened Chloe’s child, and Chloe will do anything to save her baby. During this mission, Ravenscar captures Chloe, and, mistaking her for Lia, determines that he will enslave her by inciting her strong sexual drive and then casting her aside. Although Chloe repeatedly tells Ravenscar that she is not Lia, but Ravenscar refuses to listen. What will happen to Chloe and her baby? Will Ravenscar carry out his heinous punishment?

In spite of its theme of revenge and redemption, this Regency novella is a light, quick read. The character of Chloe, although very innocent – too innocent in some ways for a woman who had already borne a child – quickly matured and developed throughout the story. The character of Ravenscar was a little more remote, being unwilling to talk much about his feelings (as many alpha male characters can be!). This book includes some very graphic sex scenes, including anal and oral sex, bondage, and domination, but the scenes fit into the plot smoothly and help develop the story. I enjoyed this book and recommend it to those who like a little spice in their Regency romances.
