One Thing Leads To Another

Allen Richard, a very rich man who has an “adult entertainment” empire just outside of Las Vegas, has been murdered in a particularly gruesome manner. His live-in, Rose Daniels, and his right-hand man, Nathan Graham, are revealed to be his joint heirs. Not only is Rose in danger from a stalker, but the will requires her to live at the bordello managed by Nathan for six months and learn to manage the operation. Nathan is very upset by this! What will a nice girl like Rose do in a whorehouse? Nathan attempts (for her own good, of course) to scare Rose away by making her learn everything ... yes, everything ... about the bordello’s services. Will Rose give up or adapt to her new surroundings?

In general, the author has a very readable writing style. However, I was confused several times by the abrupt scene transitions, which gave the story something of the feel of a movie with flash cuts. It’s very dramatic, but hard to follow. The mystery is a good one, and the villain is not revealed until the very end of the book although, looking back, I recall clues scattered throughout the book. (I always enjoy mysteries that fool me until the end!) This book pushes boundaries in its sexual scenes, with graphic language, and some sexual situations that may be objectionable to some readers, such as female/female sex, a menáge à trois, and BDSM.
