Under His Spell

Skye Logan has a destiny to fulfill, one that she has little interest in following. She is a witch who would rather live a normal life and deny her powers, but alas that is not meant to be. Sabrina, leader of the coven of witches, has kidnapped Skye's little sister and is using her to force Skye to kill a wizard. Not just any wizard, Rane Hansen, the sexiest thing Skye has ever seen. The wizard is nothing she expected; he is more... more powerful, and more desirable than any man she has ever met and seems to desire her as well. There is a bigger problem though, the small matter of witches and wizards being sworn enemies, never to mix.

Rane Hansen has left his assembly to live a mortal life on Earth. The last thing he needs in his life is a witch, even one so sexy she makes his blood pressure rise. Skye is there to kill him and all he wants to do is discover the truth behind her mission and save her from making the wrong choices, which would lead the assembly to eliminate her. Things are not as simple as first thought, when it is uncovered(,) the threats against the heroes come from more than one source. As the two are thrown together to face a powerful and dangerous unknown enemy Rane and Skye are soon to discover the last one they should want is the one they cannot live without.

Under His Spell by author Rachel Carrington is book 3 of her enchanting wizard series and equals, if not surpasses, its predecessors. Plenty of familiar faces reappear throughout this tale, to the delight of the series fans, but by no means will the first time reader be left in the dark. The storyline is full and complete unto itself and the reader will have no problem keeping up with the plot line or characters. Rane is all you would expect a wizard to be and more, strong, powerful, gorgeous and loyal. He does however have a bit of rogue in him. He likes to live on the edge and will bypass the rules when he feels it is necessary. Skye has many of these qualities as well. She is extremely loyal and protective of those she loves and will risk herself to keep them safe. These qualities lead to some interesting and spark filled disagreements between the two main characters and make the passion between them much more intense and fiery. It was a pleasure to return to the wizard’s world and I look forward to returning there soon. Under His Spell is keeper shelf material with a solid 5 angel rating.
