Dragon's Rise

Prince Bren of Xicanth is part of an entire royal family of human/dragons. They are human in form, but carry a dragon's identity in their souls. When just a young boy, Bren had seen the dead body of a human woman who had rejected a dragon who had wanted her as his mate. He swore then that he would never unleash the passion of his dragon on any woman. He would never allow his dragon to harm any female. So, for all of his life, Bren buried his sexual passions, dedicating his mind and life to doing the business of his father's kingdom.

Keene was a shape-shifter. She had been taken in by the Shifters Guild when she was a young girl of eight. She and three other team members had been sent to a King's Council to complete a mission of deceit and murder for an unknown client.

Keene's part in this was to pose as a courtesan and get some of Bren's blood. What neither Bren or Keene counted on was that Bren's dragon would claim Keene as his mate and Keene did not want to say no.

I was never bored with this book. I was sad that I had to work so early in the morning because I had to put it down to go to bed! This is a great old fashioned boy gets girl, boy looses girl and then gets her back story with luscious, descriptive sex scenes on almost every page. This one is so steamy, it would not be appropriate to leave it just lying on your desk in the office. Anyone within arms length would be able to feel the sex oozing out of this one.
