A Kiss in the Dark 2: Locations
Now here’s a short novella that really made me wonder what I missed out on when I failed to read the first in the series - A Kiss in the Dark. (LOL)
It all started with a lousy Purity Test that resulted in a one-night stand with a man named Tom McCabe. Now, Jennifer can’t get Tom out of her mind. She dreams about him at night and has fantasies about his Sean Connery like voice. Although she came to be very knowledgeable about his body in just the one night, she never did get to see his face. Since then, she’s relied upon her trusty Battery Operated Boyfriend, BOB, and that hasn’t helped lower her Purity score. She does have Tom’s address and he did return her shirt with a page of the Purity Test and a set of questions circled. Is she making a mistake by not contacting him again? Maybe he’s a mistake she can afford to make…
On a stormy night like tonight, Tom McCabe met Jen and that’s why he thought she might come to him again. It was the best sex he’d ever had in his life. Although he hadn’t seen her face, she had a nice body, a body he would never forget. That’s why when she didn’t show up by the time the storm ended he was saddened. Then he was determined…He would find her again. Maybe not tonight, but he would find her. He needed her. Would she want an old man like him? What would she do when she found out who he really was?
Shelby Morgen’s A Kiss in the Dark 2: Locations is delightful. I particularly liked the concept of an older hero. Tom's character is wonderful and picturing him as Sean Connery was ideal, especially the voice. That voice should be outlawed. (LOL) His insecurities were realistic and made me wish that more men would actually vocalize these feelings of insecurities so that we women wouldn’t feel so alone in our own insecurities. I admire Ms. Morgen for picturing Jen, not as a voluptuous sexpot or model perfect, but as a woman with muscles and square-cut shoulders. Jen has her own insecurities to deal with, but begins to do so with aplomb keeping the Purity Test in the back of her mind.
Just so readers know – The Purity Test makes for some interesting sexual concepts, so all I can say is the sex in this is hot and erotic. It is also a very interesting sounding test, one I’m sure many people would be interested in taking if such a test really existed.
A Kiss in the Dark: Locations is a quick, fun read and one that erotic contemporary readers and Shelby Morgen’s fans will like.
