His Christmas Cara

Eben Marley hates the holiday season. Christmas is just another day for him, just like the real Scrooge of myth. The only thing that gets his blood moving is money…and the thought of the lovely Cara Winston, a pretty accounting administer at his business, Venture Advertising, a woman who he had also shared a passionate night of love making with three years ago. She’s the one woman he can’t get out of his head, despite his many attempts to try. When he goes home on Christmas Eve he never expects that his driver, Jacob, will mysteriously disappear from the car, causing him to crash and wake up…with the ghost of his dead father.

Eben’s first thought is that he has died, but then he learns the truth. He has been wasting his life, hurting people left and right and not even caring. He finds out he will be visited by three spirits who will guide him on a journey of discovery where he will hopefully learn not only the true spirit of Christmas but how to love again.

This tale seems remarkably similar to the infamous Ebenezer Scrooge story, and while it is definitely based on it, author Shiloh Walker takes some liberties with the story, making it her own. This version is definitely a romance, a very sensual and erotic story about a man who has to let down his guard in order to find the love and happiness he has been searching for. What is also really original, and exciting, about this story, is that Cara has just as big of a role to play as Eben. Her character has been through some tough times. She fell in love with Eben the day they made love three years ago, but he hurt her irrevocably when he turned away from her the next day. Now he has to prove to her, and himself, that he is a changed person, ready to be part of a committed and loving relationship. Cara isn’t a fool though and is definitely leery of trusting her heart to Eben again.

This was a sweet story that will not only remind you of the holiday spirit, but it will also remind you of the love that should be so much a part of everyone’s holiday season. His Christmas Cara will definitely put you in the mood for a kiss under the mistletoe.
