John Standcliff has spent the last three hundred years in Hell. His only reprieve is when he is occasionally sent back to the living to deliver an evil human to the Master. When he invites her to dinner, she reluctantly agrees, knowing that this might be her only chance to see the actual scene of the murders.

At first, John pursues Corinne only because the scent of the serial killer surrounds her. Soon though, he can’t help but want the wonderful woman who makes him feel more alive than he has in centuries. He knows he could never really have Corinne, but just being with her now is enough to get him through eternity. Corinne has never desired a man the way she does John. Could this gentle, passionate man with an old soul's eyes be the one she’s looked for all her life?

Kate Hill has outdone herself with this amazing story of redemption found by a tortured soul willing to risk everything for the one he loves. I was mesmerized from the first sentence to the last. John is the ultimate sexy bad boy. The crimes he committed were justifiable, yet murder is murder, and he’s accepted his punishment. While in human form, John can experience sexual desire, but not fulfillment. When he makes love to Corinne, his satisfaction comes only from his selfless and tender attention to her pleasure.

Demon Lover is a deeply moving and intensely erotic story of love’s triumph over evil. It's not for those who like their romance sweet, although there are plenty of tender moments. The seemingly impossible love John feels for Corinne could melt the hardest of hearts.

Demon Lover is destined to be a keeper for fans of dark paranormal romance. I can’t recommend it highly enough!
