Rickelle Vane was a struggling, divorced mother just trying to raise her four year old son, Austin. In the middle of the night, Rickelle hears a wounded dog cry out. Leaving the safety of her porch, she ventures out to see if she can help. Little does she know, she has just ventured out of her normal, sane life.

Rickelle is kidnapped, drugged and sold to a pack ruled by Alpha males, Roman and Ivan. After her purchase, Rickelle is taken to the pack's community house.
A sweet woman named Angel begins to teach Rickelle what the rules are. Rickelle is NEVER to look a male in the eye, for it can trigger a hostile and violent out come. Any male in the pack may make a specific hand signal, which means she must have sex with him. The rules make her believe she must be in a twilight zone. Rickelle is special and does not know it. She is perhaps one of the last female of her dying breed- a unique werewolf. Rickelle always knew she was little different, but never did she imagine a whole different type of species. As she adapts to the lifestyle, she is saddened by the fact her son Austin will never know what happened to her, and she misses him. Soon an intense attraction builds between Rickelle and Ivan. This stuns the whole pack because Ivan hates women, and there is no soft spot in his heart for anyone. Rumors have it that he murdered his last mate. Ivan is a man to be reckoned with and to be taken very seriously. Even Ivan's world begins to spiral out of control once he begins to bond with Rickelle. She is different and brings out his protective and passionate nature. The pack is in danger though. They may be thrust into a violent war with other werewolves who wish to take them over. Rickelle and Ivan will be propelled into a situation where even love may not survive.

Deadly Submissions is one of the top five books I have read this year. I was amazed at how the author pulls you in from the first sentence. The descriptions in the book bring everything alive to the reader. I could see and touch the snow and smell the fresh air. Most importantly, I could understand Rickelle. She experiences a wide range of emotions during the year she is kept "hostage" by the pack. I wondered myself if she would ever see her son again. Rickelle is a wonderful heroine because she does not try to be extra strong or brave, she just tries to survive a hostile situation. The hero Ivan is a complete opposite of Rickelle and he is to die for. He is tortured and very hardcore alpha material. No one can match this man of steel. Yet Rickelle seems to find a way to worm into his frozen heart. The sexual tension will keep you wondering, will the making love scene happen now?!! And when it does happen, hold on to your seat. Rickelle and Ivan can make even a bonfire seem tame with their uncontrollable passion. I must forewarn the future readers, there is violence and some is brutally directed at Rickelle. This just brings the story even more to life. I have just one request of Desiree Gelsi. Please write a book about Angel and Roman! They each deserve a book.
