Alexei Night is a 223 year old vampire with a mission. He works for the special task force as an elite agent. Alexei jumped at the chance to go undercover to protect Intestellar Representative of the Entire Delta Quadrant, Briana Michaels. The woman who has filled him with lust since he first saw her on the Vid Comm. She is a deadly beauty with a razor sharp mind, which is exactly what Alexei is looking for a in a woman. Too bad she's human. The undercover work starts with him pretending to be a criminal smuggler. Briana needs him to smuggle her and her P.A. Sex droid, James, into Simgan2. She does not know that Alexei actually left his criminal ways behind a long time ago, after he was betrayed by his brother Evan. Briana is very important to his vampire race. She is working on finding a cure to a virus that prohibits vamps from bearing children. If she succeeds, the vampire race can procreate and enrich their race. Human don't like this idea, fearing vampires will take over. That is why Briana's enemies are out to kill her. Alexei has his hands full keeping her safe and trying to keep his hands off her. The attraction between them is too strong to deny, and soon they are caught up in the sexual flames of lust. Neither of them counted on falling in love since they know a Vamp and a human have a rough road ahead of them if they become involved in a relationship. Alexei is immortal and would only have around fifty years left with Briana before she died from old age, plus they could not have children. It does not help that society would punish them. In addition, vamps are limited in jobs limited where they can live. Sometimes love cannot be denied and Alexei and Briana are finding this out, while dodging danger at every corner.

Kiss of the Night is one of the sexiest, most uninhibited love stories I have ever read. The love scenes are frequent and very creative. One of the main intimacy issues between Alexei and Briana, is his fear of losing control during their lovemaking since vamps can go into full territorial rutting. Better grab a fan and a cool drink, because when that rutting occurs, it is definitely a frantic and very passionate scene to read! Briana was a joyful character to meet because she has strong convictions and is a very determined woman. She is not an "oh save me" kind of heroine. Her perfect hero is Alexei because he is a very self confident vamp who needs a woman who is fast on her feet and quick with her brain. The action plot is very intriguing, and even I did not know who was trying to kill Briana until the last chapter. She has so many enemies, I found that made the story even more spicy. Sylvia Day knows how to write an erotic vamp story that will please paranormal lovers to the very end.
