Brighid Dhianna chose a different path, as Clan MacCallan’s Centaurian Huntress, than her mother. While escorting 70 children from the Wasteland with Cuchulainn, Brighid’s long dormant Shaman blood is awakened. She swore not to partake in the Otherworld lest she become corrupt like her mother; on the other hand, she cannot watch Cuchulainn die.

Cuchulainn’s soul shattered the day his lover was murdered. He will discharge his duty to retrieve the children from the Wasteland even though he prefers death to life. During the trek, Brighid assists him to remember who he was. Finally, he asks her to help him reclaim the missing piece of his soul.

Brighid and Cuchulainn’s quest for his missing soul begins with friendship and respect then transforms into passion and the uniting of their spirits. As they struggle to understand their emotions, word comes from the Centaur plains of plans for war. Brighid must embrace her Shaman heritage before Partholon is devastated by war from within.

Throughout the book, I cried and laughed with Brighid and Cuchulainn. Their story gripped me until the stunning conclusion. P. C. Cast’s brilliant portrayal of the world of Partholon will cast its spell on everyone who reads Brighid’s Quest. I was drawn into Partholon and sad to leave it. I eagerly await P.C. Cast’s next installment.
