The 12 Nights of Christmas: The Gift From Within

Rick Harrison has closed himself off from everyone both physically and emotionally. In the midst of a blizzard, there is a knock at his door. When he opens it, Rick finds a beautiful woman standing there barefoot, clad in nothing but flimsy summer attire. Bringing her in so she won’t freeze to death, Rick is instantly drawn to her and the immense heat she can offer. As Leeza explains why she has come to him, Rick is confused but physically enthralled by her. Has Rick saved Leeza from the snow or is it really Leeza that has saved Rick?

The 12 Nights of Christmas: The Gift From Within offers readers a short tale of someone that has given up on life. Rick’s character is riddled with grief and guilt from past decisions, situations, and outcomes. Leeza only wants to bring Rick happiness and peace. The lengths to which Leeza goes and what she offers to Rick in order to give this to him are heartfelt and compassionate. As the story comes to a conclusion, readers will be pleasantly touched. Alice Gaines has done a good job creating a short story that offers a man a Christmas present he never dreamed he would have. 4 Angels!
