Laura has spent what feels like a lifetime running. When she is offered a chance at a dream job and her dream man, will her secrets force her to run again, or will she fight for what her heart desires?

Tourist is one of the hottest rock bands around. When Laura is presented with the opportunity to become their sound manager, she can’t believe her good luck. Laura takes a chance and accepts the job and soon finds that her life will never be the same. She is very adept at keeping the rest of the world at bay, but for some reason, lead guitarist Will Burns wants to be her friend. He is entranced with Laura and accepts that there are shadows and secrets behind her beautiful green eyes. He is determined though; he will discover the secrets she’s hiding and perhaps find a way into her heart. However, when the past and present conspire against them, can these two find a way to overcome and be together?

Laura’s Secret is an emotional, thought provoking read. Ms. Greenland presents readers with a poignant love story that also confronts the long term damage of abuse. Laura is a strong character. The flashbacks readers are witness to portray the devastating effect her childhood still has on her. She may have escaped the situation, but the lingering memories haunt her. The patience that Will demonstrates as their relationship develops is refreshing. This man is star quality and not because of his rocker status. There are moments in this story where the author’s style is so rich with emotion that readers will feel Laura’s hesitant joy and wonderment as the world before her opens up. The author maintains the trauma of Laura’s secret while she develops a heartfelt romance. The story does not hold a lot of surprises for the reader, but surprises aren’t needed when you deliver a romance that shows the power of love and friendship.
