Mercy is informed by her deceased brother’s attorney, Cullen Grant, that she will be receiving a sizeable amount of inheritance. Cullen made it very plain to Mercy he was there to help her and that he was not interested in her money. He had wanted to meet her from the time her brother spoke of her unconditional love and strength in caring for him. Cullen thought she was amazing and did not waste any time letting her know that he was not only more than interested in her personally but also that he would give her the time she needed.

Mercy is so exhausted that she sleeps very deeply and is having very erotic dreams of living in another time many years ago. No matter what she does, she has trouble keeping her dreams separate from her real life. She has never had a man like Cullen interested in her before. Can she trust her instincts that he not here because of her inheritance? Mercy and Cullen soon give in to their passion and she realizes she must live for the here and now. Life is too short and time is too precious to ignore what is happening between them.

His Mistress is a wonderful short story about the wishes of our hearts and the realities that can come to us when we open ourselves to love. Treva Harte does such an amazing job blending the love of the past into the love of the present, that I give her 4 Angels.
