Lone Huntress
Book I Love and Hate
Lisa Huntress, a bounty hunter for the Federation, has just landed on New Athens, where she has a job to do. The President needs her to hunt down the terrorists that have sprung up, and Lisa is very good at her job. Finding the terrorists isn’t hard, only learning who the leader is.
The descriptions of the planet New Athens were so well written that I could picture it and it enhanced the story.
Book II Lone Huntress
Lisa is taking Romeo, a projective telepath, back to Francine desDesmonde. Francine has paid the high bounty to have him returned to her alive. Lisa knows he is capable of influencing anyone who comes into contact with him. Lisa isn’t going to take any chances, she’ll keep her armor and helmet on to make sure he can’t influence or read her mind. But the erotic dreams she’s having make her wonder who is invading her sleep.
I enjoyed this story the most, because the depth of feelings by Lisa and Romeo make them believable and likable.
Book III Genesis of the Huntress
This is a story of the beginning. When Brock Masterson found Lisa on the pirate ship he’d been hunting, she was a child of twelve. The pirates had kidnapped her after killing her tribe on Gaia. When he saved her, she had already lost her arm to torture; he wanted to make sure she lost nothing else. After dispensing with the pirates, Brock takes Lisa back to New Vegas and adopts her, teaching her how to become strong and to be the best.
This story shows how Lisa came to be the great bounty hunter that everyone wanted and called on when they needed to get the job done right.
A.P. Miller has written a story about a woman who became strong and competent in spite of all she had to overcome. Even though it is only 69 pages in length, the reader doesn’t feel as though it is a short story. I really liked the Book II Lone Huntress, as it shows a different side to Lisa Huntress, one that everyone can identify with.
