What Reindeer Really Know

Rudy couldn’t turn down the special job Santa had asked her to do; to pick out a team to pull the sleigh in order for a little boy and his father to have a ride on the anniversary of his mother’s death. She was to meet his father Pete Hanford at the festival so he could check out the crew. Rudy, a reindeer trainer, hasn’t been to one of the festivals in five years and she’d missed the three days of sex. But she’s there on business, not pleasure, or so she thinks until she sees Pete get off the bus and wishes that it were more than just business with him.

Pete isn’t sure what he’s gotten himself into, but his son wants him to take this ride with him. So here he is at the festival, where Santa has said there was a dress code of men in only loin cloths and women in mini skirts and halter tops or no tops at all and sex was with whoever caught your fancy. When Rudy walks up to him, he wants her like he never wanted his wife. In the five years following her death he has stayed clear of sex, but now his body is letting him know that it no longer wants to be celibate.

Ms. Dickson has written a tale that readers will enjoy and make them wonder about Santa’s reindeer being able to shapeshift. Even with Rudy and Pete’s story only being 25 pages in length, you’ll feel as if you’ve met some people you’d love to get to know and want to see them have a happy ending, if they can get past their differences. Maybe there is magic in the air and with the festival happening around them, the sex between them is hot and heavy.
