Like A Hurricane

Though she lives in Charleston, SC, lingerie designer Harleigh Boston has traveled to Denver to celebrate her father’s birthday at a party arranged by her mother. Before going to the party, though, Harleigh needs to stop at her folks’ house to clean up. Using the key hidden over the back door, she lets herself into the house, and is captured by Mitch Brannigan. Mitch is a friend of her father’s who was already at the party, but was sent back to the house for the meatballs her mother forgot. When he sees a ragamuffin in a Carolina Panthers sweatshirt helping herself to the contents of the Bostons' refrigerator, he is sure that she is a housebreaker and a thief. With an introduction this tempestuous, can true love be far behind?

The fun in this novel is found in the hero and heroine, and in their relationship. The plot is simple, and totally driven by the personalities of the lead characters. Both Harleigh and Mitch are volatile people who tend to do impulsive things. This makes for a very funny comedy of errors in which a little white lie grows up to be a big fat lie. The author tells the story skillfully and with verve, making this an enjoyable romp. The love scenes are very sensual, but not very graphic, and clearly demonstrate the deep feelings that the two lead characters develop for each other. I really liked this story, and heartily recommend it for a entertaining read.
