Liquid Dreams

Katrina has been having some very intense and passionate dreams about a man who comes from the sea. Ever since she’d decided to get married, they’ve gotten even more erotic. Now she’s starting to wake up with sand in her bed and without any clothes, and she’s starting to wonder if they really are dreams.

Ranek is getting desperate to reclaim his long lost love. She’d died many years ago through treachery, and has only now been reborn. When she was reborn, she became half human, half Bandara, a part of his magical race that lives under the sea. He’s had to be very careful to bring her around slowly, so her human half will not reject what she is and cause him to lose her again. He’s limited by the fact he can only visit her at night, daylight will weaken him too much. Time is running out, because an old enemy who had killed Katrina in the first place has found a way to visit the human world in the day, and Katrina’s marriage is just around the corner.

I had a great time reading Liquid Dreams. The characters come to life, and both are very likable. Katrina is understandably confused when her dreams turn out to be real, and initially fights her feelings. She is convinced that she is slowly going crazy, just like any one would when faced with that situation. Ranek is impatient to have his love back, and while he wants to go slow and give her time, there isn’t a way to do that without endangering her. He is an alpha male that is brought to his knees by Katrina and her love. I thought the sex in the book was hot and passionate, with a lot of urgency that makes you feel for their situation. I am definitely going to be on the lookout for more from Cathryn Fox in the future.
