Cimmerian Reign Book II: Guardian

Ann is trying to make a life for herself by going to school and scraping along with several odd jobs. When a very rich eccentric woman calls her to get her to walk her dog, she hops a bus and hopes for the best. She passes the test and manages to get the dog to accept her, but the woman’s brother is just too obnoxious to be believed. He offers her a very generous salary and live-in privileges if she will move in, walk the dog, and oh yeah, go to bed with him occasionally. Offended and angry, Ann walks out.

Cade is a bit puzzled by Ann’s reaction. He’s used to having women fall at his feet. After all, he’s rich, handsome, and to top it all off he’s a vampire so she shouldn’t be able to resist him. But Ann is different all the way around, and he hasn’t felt this kind of interest in a long time for any woman. When Ann’s house and belongings burn to the ground, Cade and his sister rush to the rescue and give Ann an offer she can’t refuse. And it doesn’t include Cade… Or does it?

Ann is a hardworking, appealing character that I really liked. One of the best things about her was that, although she had it rough, she wasn’t asking for handouts and wanted to make it on her own. Cade comes across as selfish and arrogant at first, but as the story moves along you find yourself liking him more and more. I enjoyed reading Cimmerian Reign Book II: Guardian, because of all the action that went on in the story. There wasn’t a moment to relax; something was going on in almost every page. The sex in the story is hot and passionate; they light up the pages with their emotion. If you want something a little bit out of the ordinary when it comes to vampires, give this one a try. CS Chatterly has created a whole new exciting world of vampires, and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
